The lake Tahoe is a famous lake in North America. It is at the border of California and Nevada, located in the Sierra Nevada, which is a mountain range in the Western United States. The lake Tahoe is one of the biggest lakes of the United States of America. The lake Tahoe is a major tourist place, where you can enjoy the lake in summer and ski in the mountains in winter.

 

We actually went in the Lake Tahoe in May so it was not too cold but not too hot. To go there we rented a car in SFO (San Francisco International Airport) in a rental car company, which is Firefly. Firefly is a subsidiary of the famous rental car company Hertz. Firefly is really good, you can actually rent a good car for a fair price. Then my two friends and me we hit the road in our Dodge Charger, ready to spend a great weekend!

 

On the road to The Lake Tahoe from San Francisco we crossed the Gold County and we stopped in Sacramento. This beautiful city is the capital of California. There is lot museum and cultural activities in Sacramento. One of the museums is located in the famous California State Capitol. (www.capitolmuseum.ca.gov) After visiting this city we hit the road to The Lake Tahoe!

 

We arrived there in the evening from the south of the Lake. We went through the snowy mountains by night under the light of the moon.

We slept to the lake and the tomorrow morning we had breakfast in a little dinner, which was great.

 

After that we drove around the lake, looking for the nicest perspectives and visiting the different cities.  (see the pictures below).

 

Then we hit the road to the Lassen Volcanic National Park. But unfortunately, even in May there was so much snow that the access to the park was closed… We enjoyed the landscapes and the snow and we came back to San Francisco after a great weekend in the mountains!
